Eight-Months-Old

A couple of weeks ago, Evelyn was just figuring out how to crawl around, and now she has become a pro. The other day I left the front door open to pack some things in my car, and when I was walking up the sidewalk to the door, here was Evelyn poking her smiling face out the door.

Last week she figured out how to pull herself up and stand next to the coffee table. Now she is getting up and down, standing in her play pen, moving her way around the coffee table with minimal effort.

The girl is fearless! She doesn't cry when she falls or bumps her head on something. And she definitely has an attitude about being put in her play pen. Now that she is mobile she wants to be able to move at her own pace, crawling and hobbling around where she desires.

And one other thing I should mention is that I have never seen a baby smile as much as Evie does. Always has a smile for Mommy. :)

We went to Chicago this weekend and stayed with Jessie and Will. Jake's mom got the whole McCoy clan tickets to see Tony Bennett at Rivinia Saturday night for her birthday present. The concert was a blast, and thankfully, Aunt Jessie watched the baby while we adults enjoyed a little Tony. I must say that I am very glad I don't live in an urban area--I was so furious after riding in the car for 1.5 hours for 45 miles. I think it made appreciate Springfield a little more.
