October
October is coming to end, which saddens me a little because it is one of my favorite months. I love all the colorful foilage, the sweaters and hoodies, and the hot drinks that make you feel cozy.
Jake and I just celebrated our two year anniversary on Saturday. I met Jake at Olive Garden after he got off work (big night out!). We went shopping for some work clothes and I definitely walked out of Old Navy with more items than he did. After shopping, we went to the movie theatre and saw The Invention of Lying, which wasn't quite what we expected but nonetheless funny in some parts.
Yesterday we went to Grandma's house for Aunt Irene's birthday. It was really nice to see all the family. Evelyn is the center of attention, though she wasn't too keen on it. She was tired all day so the majority of the time she was zoning out or chomping on her cereal puffs. :) She started to warm up to everyone by the time we were leaving (and after her hour nap). After we got home, I wasn't feeling all that well but it passed.
Let's see what else happened this month...
I started working with Americorps through AARP. So far it hasn't been too exciting, but I really do enjoy it. I feel comfortable with the people I work with and want to continue to work hard there. My job lasts through the end of August, so I will hopefully be able to find a job for September.
I am also working on my graduate school applications. I keep thinking that I don't want to go straight through to get my masters but I feel that it's very important I don't lose momentum. The sooner I start the sooner I will be able to finish.
Jake is still doing well at work. The Christmas season for the retail world will begin on Sunday, November 1. I have a feeling that he is dreading it a little bit, but he'll handle it as wonderfully as he does everything else. It will be his first Christmas he won't be a regular associate, which he is extremely excited about.
And Evie! I know I am biased but she is the most perfect baby. She gets into everything and crawls around like a little Army man. She is still putting everything into her mouth, and she is beggining to stand for a few seconds on her own. Evelyn will be walking before we know it! I am both excited and dreading this because it will be even harder to keep up with my little monkey.
I have a million pictures I need to post, and I am going to start using Photobucket so everyone can see the pictures. Building Blocks will be having their Halloween parade on Friday, so I am going to skip work for a couple of hours so I can take pictures of Evie in her Halloween costume (she will be a ladybug). I will make sure to post those as well!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous month and I will talk to you soon.
