March-y Mush

Hello, all! Every time I think to write a blog something comes up. I am fully taking advantage of naptime right now in order to update.

Jake is taking 6 hours at Lincoln Land this semester and is enjoying his classes. He is taking a literature class and he has read Emma, To Kill a Mockingbird, and On the Road so far...Emma definitely ranked as his least favorite.

Evie is growing, growing, growing. She is now approx. 40" tall and weighs around 37 pounds. She is better able to articulate herself, which we are all loving. Life with a 2-year-old is much easier when we can understand her wants and needs.

The biggest thing going on right now with Evie is making sure we get to bed on time and the beginning of potty training! She is starting to tell us when she needs to use the restroom and "potty treats," of course, do provide an incentive. Her favorite treat is Sweetart jellybeans!

I really like working at Panera because I work a different station almost every day, and then the customers and employees both keep me on my toes. I like the repition of it all, the stability. Soon I will begin my shift supervisor training--I find out this week the exact start date, and I am to be trained at the East Peoria store. While this new position secures my hours at the store, it does mean I will be driving over an hour to work each way. Thankfully, the training only lasts for three weeks, and then I will be back at the store on Wabash.

School is school. It takes a lot of time to read all of my materials but I am learning, which is the important thing. I can't wait to take another gerontology class and dive into the stuff I am really passionate about!

And to move onto my mushy schtuff. I love our lives. I tell Jake every day, whether he is tired of hearing it or not, that I LOVE LOVE LOVE our lives. Sure, we aren't where we would like to be in our careers, but that doesn't matter. As I said on Facebook earlier this week, "If we had any more love in this teeny tiny apartment, it might just burst."

We are so absolutely crazy about one another and our little girl. The love I have for my husband deepens every day, and I can never get enough of my little Evelyn. She is growing so quickly and I don't want to miss a second of it. She is beautiful, intelligent, spunky...a bit of a hellion, maybe, but 100% mine and I adore her (in case you couldn't tell).

I am loved by the two people I love most and that, my friends, is the most amazing feeling in the world. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

PS Please feel free to check out the family portraits we had taken this week. Some of them turned out wonderfully!
