"Sweet dreams be yours, dear, if dreams they be..."

..."Sweet dreams to carry you close to me. I wish I may and I wish they might. Oh, goodnight, my love, goodnight."

Evelyn are having a "girls' night" tonight because Jake is closing at Bergner's. We ate some pulled pork, which Evie didn't think was that great (What does she know? She's only 2!), and now we are watching Meredith Wilson's The Music Man. She gets to giggling when Eulalie Machkechnie Shinn enters into a scene, and my favorite parts include the Buffalo Bills quartet. I think the "Shipoopi" dance is one my favorite dance scenes!

While the movie is a blast to watch, it also shows us that love can bring out the very best in all of us.

Every time I look at Evie I marvel at how big she is getting so quickly. Before I know it, she will be speaking in full sentences and learning to tie her shoes! She is talking like crazy, though I can only understand a little more than half of what she is saying. If I don't understand what she is saying, she will sign it or point so that Mommy can have a better understanding.

Jake has class at night during the week, and while I miss him terribly, I also secretly like that he isn't home so that I can have my "little bit" all to myself. Evie and I eat dinner, color and read, and then wind down with a good black-and-white movie or a Disney cartoon. We have this awesome routine and it will only get better as the weather gets warmer--park time!

The best part of my day is snuggling with Evelyn as we wrap up the evening. Hopefully, she will continue to be a snuggler. One thing is for sure: I will cherish this alone time with Evelyn forever.

Have a good night, everybody!
