"Orange you gonna squeeze me 'neath the mellow yellow moon..."

I began to write a blog entry yesterday but was unable to finish as my hungry little monster was demanding that I feed her at 11:30am even though we had a very late breakfast at 10:30am. What Baby wants, Baby gets. :0)

The two of us had a very lazy Sunday while Daddy was hard at work. We watched several of my old Disney Sing-A-Long VHS tapes that I found at my mom's house. Needless to say my Disney-obsessed 2-year-old found these amazing and we had to watch all of them before taking a nap and going for a walk in the neighborhood. I have included a couple of my favorite songs from the movies, one being a tribute to Bing Crosby and one a song from Oliver and Company.

"Blue for You"

"Good Company"

Jake has a big test and a project due this week so he has been staying in the last couple of weeks and making several trips to the library to get things done for school. We will both be done with classes for this semester within a few weeks, and believe me we are both ready for a break. Classes for the summer begin the first week of June so we will have a few weeks of non-school fun.

I have had a really rough week or so at work. We have been short-handed and this makes everything so stressful. I try to think positively because I know that my day goes about 90% as I think it will--as long as I have a good attitude, I will have a good day. While this isn't always the case due to unforeseen happenings, I know that if I have a bad attitude my day will be rough and I will have a great day if I remain upbeat. The last couple of days I have worked have been inifinitely better due to the way I see my day.

This morning Evie, Jake, and I were all feeling sickly. Unfortunately, Jake had to continue to study, so he wasn't able to take the amazing 4-hour nap that Evie and I did. We needed it, that's for sure!

Our little family has been blessed to have such wonderful friends! I have been able to make some friends through my job at Panera, and I am unbelievably thankful that I have been able to connect with them. A couple of weeks ago Evie and I spent some time with Jax and Gabriel at Washington Park and then went to their house for some playtime and cupcakes. Last week we visited Mieke and Eliana at their farm outside Sherman, where Evie got to feed chickens and goldfish for the first time! She and Eliano enjoyed throwing chickenfeed through the wires. :0) Mommy also was able to hang out with an old roommate, Rachel R., on Saturday and we enjoyed catching up and DANCING.

Summer is near and I cannot wait! We go for walks as often as possible, play in the park, and love to bask in one another's company. We are excited to spend more time outdoors with our new friends, as well as our old friends, and continue to see and learn all kinds of new things. Hope to see all of you soon!
