Passion for your Work

Anyone who has spoken with me about my job has an inkling about my passion for what I do.  Each day has its own trials, but I could not ask for a better restaurant to work.

I had the great opportunity to speak with our Senior Vice President, Chief Company & JV Operations Officer Irene Cook yesterday when she made a trip to our market, and specifically, our café yesterday.  Our Vice President, Regional Sales & Marketing Don Hutcheson also took a tour of the café with Irene.  While their titles are both intimidating, it was a wonderful experience to be able to speak with them as well as discuss my passion for the company.

One of my absolute favorite things about Panera is the Panera Cares program.  Individual cafes provide the opportunity for community members to get nutritious meals.  They also employ compassionate individuals that provide great service and friendship to those in need.  I have had the good fortune of working at the Clayton location this year and hope to work at another location very soon.

September is Hunger Action Month, and because Panera is partnered with Feeding America, I have the good fortune of facilitating a volunteer event with the Central Illinois Foodbank for Panera.  We will be meeting at the Foodbank on Thursday, September 19 at 2:00pm.  Anyone interested in participating should please contact me.

I am extremely excited to show my Panera kiddos what volunteering can do for your community and the soul.  We can make small impacts just by volunteering our time to help others.

Let's do something to make our community better.  Take part in a #hungeraction event this month!
